Apes of Doom, developed by Hurricane Games for Stakelogic, runs on an uncommon four-reel structure, with three extra multiplier reels sitting between the main columns, so depending on how you count it the game spans either four or seven reels. The theme swaps any menace implied by the title for an Art Deco bank-heist caper, with a cast of anthropomorphic ape crooks going after a vault rather than anything more dramatic.

Standard spins use ten paylines, with wins formed by landing three or four matching symbols moving left to right from the first reel. Card ranks from Jack to Ace make up the lower-paying symbols, while four tough ape characters sit above them, the top-value boss ape paying 30x the bet for four of a kind, with the weakest premium worth 8x. A golden banana wild matches the top premium's payout when it lines up on its own and otherwise substitutes for anything except the scatter.

The three reels sandwiched between the main columns each carry a middle hot zone position that displays a multiplier value. When three matching multipliers land across all three hot zones at once, their totals are combined and applied directly to whatever win is on the board. If that same three-matching-multiplier condition occurs without an accompanying win, Respin to Win kicks in instead, freezing the multiplier reels in place while the four main reels keep spinning until a paying combination finally appears for the locked-in multiplier to boost.

Scatters trigger free spins: three of them pay 2x the bet plus ten free spins, four pay 10x the bet plus fifteen. Free spins change how the hot-zone multipliers behave; rather than needing all three to match, any win during the round gets boosted by the combined total of whatever values sit in the hot zones, matching or not. The Respin to Win trigger still applies if three matching multipliers land without a win. Extra scatters landing during the round add five or ten further free spins depending on the count.

Outside the bonus round, a Super Stake option is available that doubles the cost per spin in exchange for doubling the odds of triggering free spins, and a straight buy-in for the feature costs 100x the bet where offered.
