4ThePlayer built 5 Wild Wolves around a night-time North American setting, complete with a blazing campfire and a shooting star crossing the sky behind the reels, continuing on from the studio's 5 Wild Buffalo pair with a mountain backdrop in place of the earlier desert one. The game shipped on 29 July 2025 with the same bold, colourful house art the studio is known for, and it drops the prize wheel those earlier titles used in favour of a simple list of jackpot values beside the grid.

Five reels and four rows generate 1,024 ways to win, with matching symbols paying out from the left-hand reel across adjacent positions. Stakes run from 0.20 to 90 per spin, with a 96% RTP rated high volatility. Royals from 10 through Ace fill out the low end of the pay table, backed by raccoons, owls, horses, cougars and bears, with a wolf symbol topping the sheet. A wild appears on any reel except the first and substitutes for every paying symbol on the board.

The centrepiece is Boosting Fortunes, a set of five jackpot tiers that climb toward fixed ceilings rather than growing without limit: Mini runs 8x to 100x, Midi 12x to 200x, Super 100x to 500x, Mega 300x to 1,500x, and Ultra 1,000x to 5,000x. A Gold Coin touching any symbol on a paid spin can push one or more of those tiers upward, and coins landing during free spins boost them further still. Wolf symbols appear either as single icons or fully stacked across a reel, and a full stack is what activates the Wolf Stack Multiplier. Every reel carries its own multiplier value above the grid, resetting each spin somewhere between 3x and 25x, and a fully stacked wolf takes on whatever number sits above its reel. Stacked wolves on neighbouring reels merge into a single block and multiply their combined values together, and the rules cap the total number of wolf symbols that can build up this way at a level equating to 10,500 times the bet.

Scatters trigger the Howling Free Spins round: three, four or five of them award 8, 15 or 25 spins respectively, and two landing without triggering the round still adds four extra spins to the tally. Inside the bonus, wild symbols expand to cover their whole reel and carry a multiplier of their own worth 2x to 20x, which then combines with whatever Wolf Stack Multiplier sits above that reel.
