Peter & Sons returns to piracy for a second time with Barbarossa Revenge, following on from the studio's original Barbarossa DoubleMax release and keeping its win-doubling mechanic intact. Sunken ships frame the reels above the waterline in the base game and below it during free spins, built around a 5x3 grid running 243 ways to win. Stakes range from 0.20 to 50 per spin, with an optional Golden Bet costing an extra 0.5x that doubles the chance of triggering free spins.

Every winning combination clears from the grid and triggers a cascade, dropping new symbols in from above for as long as new wins keep forming. The low-paying symbols are a set of nautical tools, worth 0.25x to 0.3x the stake for five of a kind, while five seafaring characters headed by a red-bearded captain make up the higher pays, worth 0.5x to 1x the bet.

The DoubleUp mechanic doubles the running win multiplier with every cascading win and carries no upper limit, tracked along a chain of cannon balls that also marks out any Golden multiplier positions ahead. Landing on a Golden multiplier guarantees a win on that cascade. A separate JumpUp effect can randomly advance the multiplier forward by one position on the trail, up to three times in succession, shown by cracked, glowing cannon balls. In the base game, the multiplier resets whenever a spin or cascade fails to win.

Scatter symbols across all five reels open the free spins round: three trigger 7 free spins, with two more added for each extra scatter in the same spin. Once inside, the win multiplier no longer resets between spins, though the round itself cannot be retriggered. Free spins can also be bought directly, either 7 spins for 100x the stake or 7 to 11 spins for 200x.
