Book of Dead GO Collect

Rich Wilde returns to the tombs of ancient Egypt in Book of Dead GO Collect, Play'n GO's remake of its 2016 original with redrawn graphics and the studio's GO Collect jackpot system attached. The stone columns and temple setting are more detailed than before, but the layout and the explorer will be familiar to anyone who played the first version.

The game runs on five reels and three rows with 10 fixed paylines. Neither the line count nor the coin settings can be changed; the only choice is the stake, from 0.10 to 50 per spin.

Card ranks 10 through A make up the lower half of the paytable and pay 10x to 15x for five on a line. The four premium symbols are a piece of bird-shaped jewellery, Anubis, a pharaoh and Rich Wilde himself, with five-of-a-kind awards between 75x and 500x.

The Tomb symbol pulls double duty as both scatter and wild. It can land on any reel, substitutes for every other symbol, and pays 2x, 20x or 200x for three, four or five anywhere on screen. Three or more also award 10 free spins. Before the round begins, one regular pay symbol is chosen at random as the expanding symbol. Whenever enough copies of it land, they grow to fill their reels and pay on every line regardless of whether the reels between them are adjacent, which is where full-screen wins come from. Three more scatters during the feature add another 10 spins, with a cap of 80 spins in total.

GO Collect only runs in the base game. Gold Staters can appear on any symbol other than the Tomb, and each one is banked as it lands. The more staters gathered, the more likely the Treasure Vault is to start. That round gives three respins and resets the count each time a new stater appears. Standard staters are worth 1x to 5x the bet. Bonus staters carry the four jackpots: Mini at 10x, Minor at 20x, Major at 100x and Grand at 500x.

After a win, the optional Treasure Gamble lets the player stake it for a chance to double, up to four times in a row. Each round compares Brilliant Staters against Broken ones; more brilliant than broken doubles the amount, otherwise the whole win is lost.

Book of Dead GO Collect pays up to 10,000x the stake. Its best RTP version returns 96.2%, with alternatives at 94.2%, 91.2%, 87.2% and 84.2%. Volatility is high, rated 7 out of 10, and a hit frequency of one in 4.18 means most spins on the ten lines come up empty.
