Gladiators go to war across Yggdrasil Online's Champions of Rome, a five-reel, 20-payline slot staged inside a stone-walled Colosseum crowned by the Roman Aquila, with a static painted crowd filling out the arena behind it.

Regular wins line up left to right on the fixed paylines from low-value metal, bronze, silver and gold coin symbols, three carved-stone animals in the middle tier, and three gladiator symbols as the premiums — the red gladiator is the most rewarding of the three, paying 60x the stake for five across a line. None of these symbols stack in the base game. A Roman eagle serves as the wild, substituting for every standard symbol.

Landing two scatters anywhere on the reels sets off the Gladiator feature, in which one of three weapons is thrown to add four wild symbols to the reel set: a sword adds a double-stacked wild plus two single wilds, a mace adds two double-stacked wilds, and a trident scatters four wilds at random.

Three or more scatters instead trigger the free spins bonus, worth 600x the stake for five scatters, and the round can also be bought outright for 50x the stake. Triggering free spins opens a choice between two modes. Training mode plays a straightforward 8 regular free spins. Deathmatch mode instead splits into three levels — 7 spins with a 2x multiplier, 6 spins at 3x, or 5 spins at 4x — each carrying a 450-coin, or 22.5x, win target for that level. Hit the target and the multiplier applies to the total win; miss it and the multiplier is forfeited in favour of a consolation prize of either 2x-10x the stake or five additional Training mode spins.
