Yggdrasil Gaming sends players beneath the surface in Enchanted Waters, a 2023 release built around four mermaid symbols that each carry their own reel-altering power. The base game plays out in a rocky sea pool, and hitting free spins drops the action underwater alongside a crab and swaying weeds.

Five reels and four rows generate 1,024 ways to win, with a hit frequency of 40.05%. Card suit symbols — diamonds, clubs, spades and hearts — fill the low end of the paytable at 0.8x to 1x the stake, while a crab, jellyfish, puffer fish, octopus and fish make up the high-pay end, worth 1.5x to 3x for five of a kind. A starfish wild appears only on reels 2, 3 and 4 and substitutes for any of these.

Four different mermaids are in play: one multiplies wins by 2x, 3x, 5x, 10x or 25x, one clears winning symbols away so new ones can drop in for extra chances, one strips low-paying symbols off the reels entirely, and one expands any wild across its whole reel. A Golden Bet option raises the stake by 15x in exchange for a guaranteed mermaid symbol on reel 5.

Three or more scatters award 10 free spins, and any mermaid power active on the triggering spin — or picked up during the round itself — stays live for the rest of the bonus. The +1 symbol, restricted to the fifth reel, extends either a respin or a free spins round by one whenever it lands.
