Big Time Gaming's Megaways license gives Gonzo’s Quest Megaways its reel engine, with Netent rebuilding its own point-and-click classic around variable reel heights instead of a fixed grid. The jungle temple setting, the explorer himself, and the adventurous tone carry over from the original game, now rendered with crisper animation and a fuller soundtrack. Six reels display between two and seven symbols each, so the number of ways to win changes on every spin, ranging from 64 up to a maximum of 117,649.

Wins are formed through a tumbling mechanic: any symbols that form part of a winning combination clear from the grid, letting new symbols fall in to fill the gaps, and the cycle continues for as long as fresh combinations keep landing. That means Gonzo’s Quest Megaways can chain several wins from a single drop of new symbols before a spin finally settles. Stakes run from 0.10 up to 40 per spin.

A mask symbol tops the paytable, paying 15 times the stake for six matching symbols, backed by four further masks worth less beneath it and four lower-value animal icons rounding out the low end. Two additional special symbols sit outside the regular paytable and drive most of the feature set.

Each tumble that lands builds an Avalanche Multiplier, climbing through x2 and x3 before topping out at x5 in the base game, then dropping back to x1 once a new spin begins. An Earthquake feature can strike at random at any point in the base game: every low-value symbol on screen disintegrates, and only high-value symbols drop in to replace them. Question-mark wilds return as Unbreakable Wilds — as many as two can land per spin, split so that one appears somewhere among the first three reels and the other among the last three — and unlike ordinary symbols they remain on the grid instead of clearing after contributing to a win. Landing three golden Free Fall symbols opens a round of nine free spins, plus three more for each additional Free Fall symbol landing in the same spin, and further Free Fall symbols appearing during the round extend it indefinitely. The Avalanche Multiplier runs on a steeper scale here, climbing through x3, x6, and x9 up to x15, and whatever value it reaches when the round ends carries over to boost the base-game spin that triggered the feature in the first place.

Gonzo’s Quest Megaways pays out at a default RTP of 96%, with an alternate 94.66% configuration also available, and Netent classes the volatility as high. Hit frequency lands around 3 out of 5, and the maximum win is capped at 21,000 times the stake.
