Legion Gold Unleashed trades the marble columns of earlier entries in Play'n GO's Roman series for a hot, sandy desert backdrop, the camera dropping down from a blazing sky onto dune scenery before the reels appear. Card royals from J to A pay 2x the stake for five of a kind, while an elephant, a tiger, a crocodile and an eagle make up the higher-value set, worth 8x to 20x for the same line length. A legionnaire wild appears on every reel and substitutes for any of those regular symbols, taking on the elephant's payout value when it lines up on its own.

Gold Coin symbols carry values between 1x and 1,000x the stake, and landing six of them locks in three Gold Respins: only coins can drop during this round, each one sticking where it lands and pushing the spin count back up to three.
