Los Cuatro Esqueletos

Relax Gaming frames Los Cuatro Esqueletos around Mexico's Day of the Dead, with a game grid set in a decorated street lined by flags, flowers and candle-lit gravestones and a horn-driven soundtrack running behind it.

Five reels and three rows sit behind ten fixed paylines. Wins read left to right and need at least three low-pay symbols or two high-pay symbols landing consecutively from the first reel. Ten-to-Ace card ranks, styled as painted gravestones, make up the low end of the paytable, while four skeleton characters take the top spots. A five-of-a-kind skeleton pays 75x to 500x the stake; the card symbols pay 10x to 15x for the same hit.

Pinata symbols do double duty as the wild and the free spins scatter. As a wild, a pinata substitutes for any symbol that hasn't already expanded. Landing three or more anywhere awards 10 free spins, and hitting three or more again during the round adds another 10. Before the free spins start, players pick from a set of pinatas on screen to reveal which symbol will act as the round's expander. Whenever that symbol lands and a winning line pays out, it expands to cover its whole reel — premium expanders need to appear on at least two reels first, low-pay expanders on three — and once expanded it pays every line it touches from any row.

A second layer collects scatters as they land rather than spending them immediately: reach 600 collected scatters and 10 Super Free Spins begin. These run the same as the regular round, except two expanding symbols are chosen at the pick screen instead of one, and hitting a retrigger during Super Free Spins adds both 10 more spins and a further expanding symbol. The stake carried into Super Free Spins is averaged from the bets placed while the scatters were being collected.

RTP is 94% on the standalone version, against a high volatility rating, a 10,000x maximum win and a bet range of 0.20 to 100 per spin. With three separate ways to build toward a bonus — direct scatters, retriggers, and the slower scatter-collection route to Super Free Spins — the game leans on expanding symbols rather than multipliers to produce its biggest hits, with the higher-value pinata picks doing most of the work once a round gets underway.
