Mega Masks

Relax Gaming sets Mega Masks deep in the Guatemalan jungle, an unusual backdrop for the genre, and frames the 5-reel, 5-row grid inside stone walls known as the Mega Mask Temple. Enormous stone hands hold the structure in place and shake the screen at points during play, while a percussion-led soundtrack layers in panpipes and chanting symbols to keep the setting immersive.

Three coloured rock chunks — blue, green and red — form the low-pay tier, mirrored by three equivalent wooden masks in the same colours at the premium end. Five of the red mask across a line pays 6 times the stake, while the purple wild, which substitutes for anything except the bonus symbol, pays 10 times the stake for the same five-of-a-kind. Matching combinations of three or more anywhere on the game's 41 paylines complete a win.

Betting starts as low as 1 credit per spin and runs up to 100 under standard rules, or 150 with the Mega Bet feature switched on. Mega Bet raises the base stake in exchange for pushing two numbers upward at once: at standard bets RTP is 96.21% with volatility rated 3 out of 5; Level 1 adds 20% to the stake, lifts RTP to 96.41%, clears five artifacts from the free spins vines before they start, and raises volatility to 4 out of 5; Level 2 adds 50% to the stake, brings RTP to its published ceiling of 96.61%, clears nine artifacts instead of five, and pushes volatility to 5 out of 5.

Two features operate outside the Mega Bet system. The Mega Symbol feature can fire on any spin at random, fusing two or more reels together into oversized symbols. The Free Spins Bonus needs a golden Bonus symbol on reels one, three and five at once, which pays out 10 free spins. Inside the round, four vines strung between the five reels each start holding five artifacts, and fireflies drifting toward the reels between spins clear an artifact whenever one lands on it. Emptying a vine completely adds two extra free spins and merges its two neighbouring reels into one, opening space for supersized symbols to land — the exact effect Mega Bet gets a head start on by removing artifacts before the round even begins.

Mega Masks tops out at 2,451x the stake, and hit frequency isn't published for the title. Between the tiered Mega Bet system, the randomly triggered Mega Symbol fusions and the vine-clearing free spins, Relax Gaming built several distinct paths to a payout into a single release dated March 2020.
