BGaming departs from the reel format for Penalty Duel, an instant-win football game built around a single choice made before each round: play as the striker taking the kick or the goalkeeper facing it. A tropical, Rio-styled stadium frames the action, with palm trees and colourful terraces around the pitch, crowd noise and shot animations reacting to each attempt.

As striker, a target zone in the goal is picked before the ball is struck, with each zone carrying its own multiplier between 2x and 15x; scoring pays that multiplier, while a save, a post or a miss forfeits the stake. Playing as goalkeeper reverses the roles — a section of the goal is chosen to defend, multipliers here run lower, from 1.2x to 2.5x, and the round is won either by making the save or watching the opponent miss, with a conceded goal losing the bet. Either role can also be left to chance by tapping the ball or the gloves rather than aiming manually.

A Gold Round can fire at random during play, multiplying every potential payout in that round by five. Its odds can be raised by opting into an extra side wager, priced at half the base stake again, that boosts the chance of the round appearing without guaranteeing it. Separately, players in striker mode can buy straight into a bonus for 100x the stake, which delivers five shots in a row and multiplies the results of all five together for one combined payout.

The game runs a 96.14% RTP at medium volatility, with stakes from 0.2 to 50 and a maximum win of 4,860x the stake. Because the format swaps reels for role-based rounds, its risk profile shifts depending on which side of the shootout is chosen — goalkeeper play trends toward smaller, steadier multipliers, while striker rounds carry the wider spread that produces the higher ceiling.
