Peter Hunter

Armenian studio Peter & Sons sends players out across a cartoon stretch of Siberian wilderness in Peter Hunter, released in September 2023. A rifle-carrying hunter stands beside the reels, taking aim at the wildlife that lands on them, rendered in the studio's usual exaggerated, comic style rather than anything photorealistic.

The game runs on a 5-reel, 3-row grid with 20 paylines, and a win needs three or more matching symbols landing on adjacent reels starting from the leftmost position. Default RTP is 96.3%, with three further configurations available at 94.0%, 90.5% and 86.0% depending on where the game is deployed. Volatility is rated medium to high, hit frequency comes in at 25.6%, and stakes run from 20p up to £100 a spin.

Card values 10 through Ace occupy the lower rungs of the paytable, while a duck, a fox, a moose and a bear form the premium set, five of a kind paying 4x to 6x the stake for the card symbols and 10x to 30x for the animals. A wild is present on every reel and stands in for any paying symbol, matching the bear's payout when it lands as a line of its own.

The Cash Collect mechanic drives most of the action. Landing the scatter turns the current high-paying symbols into Cash symbols, each carrying a multiplier value, and these then travel across the grid toward the scatter, dropping their multiplier on every square they cross. Once a Cash symbol reaches the scatter, the hunter fires and its value is banked.

Scatters landing in the base game also fill a meter above the reels. Seven collected scatters opens three free spins on an expanded 5x5 layout, with further scatters during the round adding more spins on top. Each free spin produces one scatter and a scattering of high-pay symbols that make the same journey toward it, leaving a trail of multipliers behind them. When the hunter takes his shot, a symbol he connects with has its value multiplied by his current tally; a miss simply relocates that symbol elsewhere on the grid. Cash symbols always complete their run to the scatter regardless of the outcome, and the hunter's own multiplier grows once enough of them have been shot down.

Players can also buy straight into the bonus for 80x the stake rather than waiting for scatters to build naturally. Between the multiplier trails in the base game and the expanded free-spin round, Peter Hunter's maximum win is listed at 10,000x the bet.
