Inspired Gaming reworked its long-running Reel King series into a Halloween costume for Reel Spooky King Megaways, recasting the franchise's mascot as a vampire against a haunted house lit by a full moon. Skulls, pumpkins and ghosts fill out the reel surround, and a sweeping seasonal soundtrack replaces the usual Reel King backing music, even if the mechanics underneath are carried over largely intact from the earlier Reel King Megaways release, aside from a trimmed RTP.

The game runs on a Megaways panel: six main reels holding up to seven symbols each, plus a separate four-symbol reel sitting above them, generating up to 117,649 ways to win between spins. Winning combinations need matching icons lined up on connected reels working out from the far-left column. A bubbling cauldron tops the paytable at 50x the stake for six of a kind, followed by 9-through-A card royals and a lower tier of watermelons, plums and cherries. A witch-hat wild appears only on the upper four-symbol reel, substituting for any regular pay symbol in both the base game and free spins.

Winning combinations chain into cascades - matched symbols clear, new ones drop in from above, and the sequence continues for as long as fresh wins keep landing. Each cascade also lights a reel yellow, working left to right; reaching six lit reels triggers the Reel King feature, one cascade further unlocks Super King, and any beyond that opens Spooky King. Whichever tier fires places 1-2, 2-3 or 3-6 mini-slots over the main reels - each a single-payline slot in its own right, landing pumpkin symbols or blank spaces and carrying its own set of lit reels. A mini-slot that loses with fewer than three reels lit is removed from play; one that reaches three lit reels advances a step along the Free Spins Trail instead. The round keeps going until every mini-slot has been resolved, and reaching the end of the trail during that process triggers the Reel Spooky King Free Spins.

Before the bonus begins, players are offered a gamble wheel split between red and green sections: green adds extra free spins, up to a ceiling of 25, while red cuts the total, potentially down to zero. Inside the round itself, every winning cascade adds 1 to an uncapped multiplier, and each cascade also lights a reel red, again moving left to right. Once the sixth reel lights red, the free spins total gains 1 to 3 extra spins and the multiplier jumps by 0 to 3 more, before the red lighting sequence resets and starts again.
