About Hopper

Rabbit Gaming's Hopper is a recent addition to the online slot catalogue, and it arrives with one confirmed data point rather than a full technical rundown: a return to player of 96.0%. Everything else — volatility, maximum win, reel and payline structure — hasn't been published in a form we can responsibly report on, so rather than guess, this preview sticks to what's actually known.

That RTP figure of 96.0% places Hopper right in the middle of the pack for the wider online slots market, neither stingy nor overly generous compared with the average release. It's the number that matters most for long-run expectations, though it says nothing about session-to-session swings. A game can carry an identical 96% RTP and still play completely differently depending on whether it's built to be low volatility, with frequent, modest wins, or high volatility, with long dry spells punctuated by bigger hits — and that's exactly the detail missing from Hopper's public specification at the time of writing.

Rabbit Gaming is a newer name in the provider landscape, and titles from smaller or emerging studios often take a little longer for full stat sheets — hit frequency, bet ranges, exact max win multipliers — to filter through to aggregator data. That's the position Hopper is in. The name itself suggests something playful and light, possibly animal-themed given the title, but without confirmed theming details from a verified source, it's best not to speculate further on the presentation.

For players curious about Hopper, the most reliable route is the in-game paytable, which will lay out the exact payline count, the reel grid, and the volatility rating that this review can't yet confirm with confidence. The demo version — free to load at johnessyslots — is the fastest way to get a genuine feel for how the reels behave, how often the wins land, and what the bonus structure, if any, actually looks like in practice.

In short, Hopper is a slot with one solid, confirmed number behind it — a 96.0% RTP that sits at a fair, mid-market level — and a game best judged hands-on until further details are published. Worth a spin in demo mode to see where it lands on the volatility scale before playing for real money.

I gave Hopper by Rabbit Gaming a proper run in demo mode at $2 a bet and it’s definitely a different style of game compared with the usual reel-based slots. The bright frog and nature theme makes it instantly recognisable, while the gameplay is kept pretty straightforward so you can get into it without having to learn loads of complicated features first.

The main excitement comes from watching the multiplier build and seeing how far you can push a round before it comes to an end. At $2 a bet, the wins can start off fairly small, but once the multiplier begins climbing the value of each successful step becomes much more interesting.

It has that simple “one more go” type of gameplay where you’re constantly hoping the next move takes the win higher.

Hopper has a 96% RTP and a maximum win of 1,000x your stake, so there is still decent potential despite the simple presentation. It’s quick, easy to understand and a nice change if you want something different from traditional spinning reels.

The bonus

The multiplier side of Hopper is definitely what makes the game enjoyable. I played in demo mode at $2 a bet and rather than relying on a traditional Free Spins round, the excitement comes from progressing through the game and building the multiplier as you go.

The early stages can feel fairly relaxed, but once you start moving further and the multiplier increases, every successful step becomes much more important. That’s where Hopper gets tense because you can see the potential win getting larger and you’re hoping the next result keeps the run alive.

It’s a very simple concept, but it works well because you always know exactly what you’re chasing.

I also liked that there aren’t loads of unnecessary features cluttering the screen. The focus stays on the multiplier and trying to reach one of the better payouts. With wins available up to 1,000x the stake, there’s enough potential there to make a strong run exciting. At $2 a bet, even a moderate multiplier can turn into a decent demo win pretty quickly.
