Shoot Happens actually started off really well for me and for the first part of the session I thought I’d found a winner. I was getting regular hits, my balance was holding up nicely and there were enough decent spins coming in to keep me interested.
It felt like it was building towards something bigger, which obviously kept me spinning 😂 Then it just completely changed. The hits dried up, the balance started disappearing and all that early promise basically went out the window. I still enjoyed the game and there’s definitely potential there, but it was painful watching such a good start turn into absolutely nothing.
Shoot Happens… literally!
The bonus
After the base game had been treating me pretty well, I went into the Shoot Happens bonus with fairly high expectations. At first it looked like those expectations might actually be justified too. I was getting some decent action early on, a few promising hits landed and my balance was looking healthy enough that I started thinking this could turn into a really good bonus.
That feeling lasted about five minutes 😂
It was one of those bonuses that gets you excited at the beginning and then slowly destroys every bit of hope you had. There were a couple of setups that looked like they were one decent hit away from really taking off, but every time I thought something big was coming, the next spin basically said “nope”.
By the halfway point things had gone from looking really promising to me just begging it to do something.
The most frustrating part was that I’d already seen enough to know there was potential. It wasn’t completely dead from the start, which somehow makes it worse! It gave me a taste of what it could do, got me invested and then completely switched off.
Towards the end I was watching the remaining spins disappear while the wins got smaller and smaller, and eventually I just accepted that the comeback wasn’t happening.
I can’t say I hated it because the first part genuinely was exciting and I’d definitely try the bonus again. But this particular run was the definition of getting your hopes up for nothing. Started strong, looked like it might actually turn into a monster and then completely flopped when it mattered.
Considering the game is called Shoot Happens, I suppose I should have seen that coming 😂
