The Mask

NextGen Gaming licensed the 1994 Jim Carrey and Cameron Diaz comedy to build The Mask, keeping the film's sound bites and character likenesses running through a 5-reel, 3-row grid with 20 fixed paylines. Stanley Ipkiss, Tina Carlyle, Stanley's dog Milo, the cursed yellow hat and stacks of money notes make up the premium symbols, backed by the usual run of card-rank low pays from 10 through to Ace. Stanley's transformed alter ego doubles as the wild, standing in for other symbols and topping out at 15x the stake for a full line, while a separate scatter symbol handles the bonus entry.

Four modifiers can strike at random in either the base game or the bonus round: one drops a 2x2 block of wilds onto the reels, one converts selected symbols into wilds across up to three reels, one turns chosen symbols wild individually, and one plants a larger 3x3 wild block. The Mask symbol itself can also appear out of turn to launch the bonus outright.

Landing three, four or five scatters triggers The Mask's Coco Bongo nightclub bonus, awarding 10, 15 or 25 free spins depending on how many scatters landed, with further scatters during the round adding more spins on top. Random multipliers of 2x, 3x, 4x or 5x can attach to any winning spin during the free games, and a screen filled entirely with wild symbols alongside the highest available multiplier produces one of the biggest single payouts the base symbol set allows.

The game runs on a bet range of 0.10 to 50 per spin with a 95.5% RTP and medium-to-high volatility, playable across desktop and mobile. Between the randomly triggered wild features and the retriggering free spins, most of the licensed film's callbacks arrive during the Coco Bongo round rather than the regular game.
