We have opened Tome of Madness 4 times between 17 Jun 2026 and 21 Sep 2026 on stream and logged the result. The best of those paid 151.9× the bet. That is too few opens to say anything about how the game behaves — it is a record of what happened on those occasions, nothing more.
Rich Wilde, the explorer from Book of Dead, walks into a Lovecraft-inspired setting in Tome of Madness from Play'n GO. The action takes place in a dark hall on a 5x5 grid, with the character standing to the right of the reels. Wins come from clusters of four or more matching symbols joined horizontally or vertically, and winning symbols are removed so that new ones tumble in.
The low-value symbols are green, blue, red and purple stones marked with alien script. The more valuable ones are Cthulhu skulls, rings, daggers and octopus pendants, and the pendant is the top payer at 100x the stake for a cluster of 10 or more. There are three wilds: a book as the standard wild, Rich Wilde himself as an x2 multiplier wild, and an octopus-like Mega Wild that appears only in the bonus.
The RTP is 96.59%, volatility is at the top of the scale at 10 out of 10, and the maximum win is only 2,000x the stake. Bets range from 0.10 to 100.
Cascades charge the Portal Meter on the left of the grid, and a spin with no win empties it. Landing on marked Eye positions in a win means two Special Wilds are added after the next cascade that pays nothing. The meter then unlocks rewards at set thresholds. At 7 symbols, two Special Wilds are added. At 14, two more arrive and a win involving one of them sets off the Abyss Portal Effect, which clears a row or column from that wild. At 27, two more appear and the Void Portal Effect can follow, removing every copy of one randomly chosen regular symbol. Reaching 42 symbols starts the Other World Free Round.
That round awards a single round with three random Portal Effects, and overcharging the meter adds another effect for every three symbols collected, up to seven. A Portal Effect fires whenever a cascade produces no win, and each one adds four Special Wilds. During the bonus, 11 or 12 Eye positions are shown, and winning on every one of them drops in the Mega Wild, which moves down the grid with each cascade until it falls out of view.

Tome of Madness has an RTP (return to player) of 96.59%. RTP is the theoretical percentage of total stakes a slot returns to players over a very large number of spins, as published by Play'n Go — individual sessions can land far above or below it.
Tome of Madness is rated high volatility. High-volatility slots pay out less often, but wins tend to be bigger when they land — expect longer dry spells and larger swings to your balance.
The advertised maximum win for Tome of Madness is 2,000x. Max wins are extremely rare by design — treat them as a ceiling, not an expectation.
Tome of Madness is developed by Play'n Go.
