Microgaming built Unusual Suspects around a comic-book detective chasing colourful criminals and crime bosses. A jazz soundtrack plays over police-themed symbols such as cash bags, dynamite, pistols and handcuffs, and the bonus moves to the detective's office.

The reels are 5x4 with 20 fixed paylines, paying from left to right. Wilds replace every regular symbol, and each one that lands leaves a sticky frame behind. Another wild landing inside a frame adds +1 to its multiplier, to a cap of x5. Golden Wilds can create more wilds, while a Detective symbol fills every framed position with wilds, which is the Detective Wild Bonus. Frames stay until that bonus happens.

Scatters have a dual role. They feed the Free Spins feature and also fill a Booster Meter.
