Valkyrie

Midgard and the fires of Helheim form the setting of ELK Studios' Valkyrie, a Nordic mythology slot with five reels and 1,024 ways to win. Freya, the goddess of love, acts as host, and the Valkyries Gane, Helena, Andora and Tyrsa carry weapons that appear among the high-value symbols, either as ordinary icons or as oversized blocks.

Twelve standard symbols share the paytable. Gem-set steel royals from J to K cover the low end, and above them sit Thor's hammer, the Midgard Serpent, the Fenrir wolf, gauntlets, the four Valkyries and Freya, who pays 4x the stake for five of a kind. Symbols arrive in stacks of three, and they can also form blocks in three sizes, 2x2, 2x3 and 3x3, in both the base game and the bonus. Three further symbols are special: a bonus symbol, a scatter and a wild, and the wild's artwork closely resembles the scatter and some of the premium icons.

Three random Valkyrie features sit at the centre of the game. Landing three or more bonus scatters in the base game triggers them, and a bigger count makes the result stronger. The Sword of Destiny drops swords onto one, two or all three middle reels, turning them into fully stacked wild reels. The Shield of Chance rains shields over the reels, leaving 1x1 wilds in random positions. The Arrow of Fortune has Freya shoot arrows at the grid, and each arrow that lands creates identical Epic symbols in 2x2, 2x3 or 3x3 form.

Free spins start from three or more scatters anywhere. Three give 5 spins with at least one Valkyrie feature, four give 7 spins with at least two, and five give 10 spins with at least three. The round can retrigger for the same spin packages, and no additional mechanics are attached to it.

ELK lists the RTP at 96.3%, with a hit frequency of 31.0% and a volatility rating of 8 out of 10. Bets span 0.20 to 100 per spin, and the maximum win is 5,000x the stake. A full screen of the top symbol, Freya, is worth 4,096x the stake.
