Viking Runes

Truelab Games gave Viking Runes a 9x9 board of 81 positions, far larger than the grids most cluster slots use, and pays it with a cluster-and-tumble engine. Six or more matching symbols touching horizontally or vertically form a win. Several clusters can pay on a single spin, after which the paid symbols vanish and new ones drop in, and the sequence only ends when a drop produces no further cluster.

The scene is a rocky mountain region where snow glows purple under the aurora borealis across the top of the screen. Faces seem to peer out of the stone like earth spirits, and a horn-helmed warrior stands beside the grid with a warhammer raised.

Three rune designs make up the low pays, four more form the mid tier, and two pieces of gem-set jewellery are the high symbols. Each cluster size from 6 up to 42 has its own value, so the paytable is a long one. At the top of the scale, a 42-symbol cluster of low pays returns 100x the bet, the mids pay 200x to 300x, and the two highs reach 500x to 800x. Two wilds help clusters form: a regular wild that replaces every symbol except the Lightning Wild, and the Lightning Wild itself.

Lightning Wilds are the centre of the feature set. Four are held on a bar to the right of the grid. Each winning cascade releases one of them onto a random position, up to four in a row, and each relocates after the next cascade. They are cleared when the cascades finish.

Three random modifiers can appear in the base game or the bonus, though only one can trigger per cascade. Runic Shuffle rearranges the symbols after a losing spin so that at least one winning cluster forms. Spell of Ancestor can turn low pays into the top high symbol when no new wins land. Viking Sorcery drops between 3 and 9 wilds onto random spots under the same condition.

Five or more winning cascades in a row award 6 free spins, and where the jurisdiction permits, a bonus buy goes straight to that round. All four Lightning Wilds stay active for the whole bonus and keep moving after each cascade, and they carry a multiplier that rises by 1 each time one takes part in a winning cluster. Free spins cannot be retriggered.

The RTP is 96.2%, volatility is high, and the hit frequency is 31.8%. The maximum win is 25,000x the stake, with bets ranging from 0.40 to 40.
