Wild Mantra

Tibetan Buddhism supplies the mood of Wild Mantra, which Yggdrasil released in January 2023. The scene is set in the Himalayas, with snowy peaks under a clear sky and the reels placed inside a stone temple ruin that has brass bells hanging at its sides. Meditative music plays throughout. Instead of dropping vertically, the symbols travel sideways on cylinder-shaped wheels, an unusual look that recalls prayer wheels.

The grid is 5x4 with 25 paylines. Low-value symbols are the four card suits, all paying the same amount. Four premium signs follow, and they too share a single value, paying 4x the stake for five on a payline.

Wilds are the only symbols able to appear stacked across a whole reel, and they drive Mantra Respins. When a wild lands in the base game, it stays put while the other reels spin again. If further wilds arrive on that respin, each existing wild shifts one position so that it grows in size, and the cycle continues until a respin brings no new wild.

Three, four or five scatters anywhere in view start the free spins, which begin with 10 spins. Five scatters also pay 1,000x the stake straight away. Any wilds that were on the reels at the moment of triggering are carried into the round, and an additional wild is added when it begins. During free spins every wild is sticky, Mantra Respins continue to operate, and filling an entire reel with wilds grants one more free spin. A full screen of sticky wilds is worth 100x the stake per spin.
