Play'n GO sends Wild Trigger into the dusty American West, where two bandits, Clint McGraw and Dottie Fields, have robbed a bank and now face off over the money. The screen carries a heat-haze effect, sepia colouring and drifting dust, and the opening shot pans from circling birds down to a lonely frontier town.

The game runs on 5 reels and 4 rows with 20 paylines. Normally lines pay from left to right, but during respins and free spins they pay in both directions, and arrows beside the reels show which way is active. Playn Go lists the RTP at 96.2% with medium volatility, a ceiling of 2,000x the stake, and bets between 0.02 and 100.

Ten to Ace make up the low symbols, returning 5x to 7.5x for a five-symbol line. The better symbols are bourbon bottles, hats and boots, pistols, dynamite and sacks of gold, which pay between 12.5x and 50x for five. Two wild symbols are present, replacing every other symbol, and the features depend on them.

Wilds can only appear on the first reel, the fifth reel, or both, and they always arrive stacked to fill the whole reel. One wild landing starts a Walkdown Respin: the wild locks in place and the lines switch to paying both ways. If both reels carry a wild on the same spin, the Duel Free Spins begin, giving 10 spins. During that round both wilds are sticky for the entire duration and the grid keeps paying in both directions, so the two outer reels stay wild from the first spin to the last.
