What is a bonus hunt?
A bonus hunt is a way of playing slots where you spin several different games until each one lands its bonus feature, leave every bonus unplayed, and then open them all one after another at the end. The result of the hunt is the total those bonuses pay back compared with the money spent collecting them. Across 16,337 bonus opens recorded in 795 live bonus hunts, the typical bonus paid 49.9× the bet.
What is break-even in a bonus hunt?
The break-even multiplier, or BE, is the average win, in multiples of the bet, that every bonus still to be opened must pay for the hunt to get back exactly what it cost. You work it out by dividing the money still needed by the total of the remaining bonuses' bet sizes. For comparison, the typical bonus in our recorded hunts paid 49.9×.
What is RTP in slots?
RTP, or return to player, is the percentage of all the money wagered on a slot that the game is designed to pay back to players over a very large number of spins. A slot with 96% RTP is built to return £96 for every £100 staked in the long run, with the other 4% being the house edge. It says nothing reliable about a single session.
What is slot volatility?
Volatility, also called variance, describes how a slot spreads out its payouts. A low-volatility slot pays smaller wins more often; a high-volatility slot goes longer between wins but can pay much bigger ones. Two slots with the same RTP can feel completely different because of volatility. In our recorded bonuses the average win (128.6×) is far above the typical one (49.9×), which is volatility at work.
What is a bonus buy in slots?
A bonus buy, or feature buy, lets you pay a fixed price to trigger a slot's bonus round immediately instead of waiting for it to land naturally. The price is set by the game and is often around 100 times the bet, though it varies from game to game. In our recorded bonuses, 29.4% paid 100× or more, which is roughly what a typical buy costs. Bonus buys are not offered at casinos licensed in Great Britain.
What does max win mean on a slot?
A slot's max win is the largest amount the game can pay from a single spin or bonus round, usually written as a multiple of the bet, such as 5,000× or 25,000×. At a £1 bet, a 5,000× max win is £5,000. When a game hits its max win, the round usually ends there, even if more wins were on the way. Only 4.2% of our 16,337 recorded bonuses paid even 500×.
What are wagering requirements?
Wagering requirements, also called playthrough, are the total amount you must bet before money won with a casino bonus can be withdrawn. They are written as a multiple: a £100 bonus with 35x wagering means £3,500 of bets. The lower the multiple, the easier the bonus is to clear.
What is a wager race?
A wager race is a leaderboard competition, usually run by a casino or a streamer, that ranks players by the total amount they bet over a set period such as a week or a month. When the period ends, the players at the top share a prize pool. Your position depends on how much you wager, not on whether you win.
