Pragmatic Play built Aztec Bonanza around a diamond-shaped reel formation rather than a standard rectangle - five reels arranged in a 2-4-6-4-2 row pattern, with a blocking tile sitting in each of the four corners of the full 5x6 grid. Those blockers keep the win-ways count low at the start and open up gradually as play continues, eventually letting the grid run at its maximum of 7,776 ways once every corner has been cleared. Stakes run from 0.30 up to 150 per spin.

Wins are formed by landing three or more matching symbols anywhere adjacent to each other, and every winning group then clears from the board through a Tumble mechanic, dropping fresh symbols into the gaps and giving each spin a chance to chain into further wins. The low end of the paytable is covered by card-suit icons - clubs, hearts and spades - with angular shapes filling the middle tier and three premiums, a green orb, a blue gem and a crescent moon, paying the largest amounts, topped by the green orb at 2.5x the stake for a single combination.
