Snowborn, a studio based between Stockholm and Helsinki, followed its debut release The Vault with Cat Clans, a Highland-set slot built around rival clans of cartoon cats. The reels sit against rolling hills and mountains, with a stone castle to one side and a glowing treasure chest that feeds into one of the two bonus rounds.

Play runs on a 5-reel, 3-row grid with 20 fixed paylines, paying out for three or more matching symbols landing across an active line from the left. Four clan cats top the paytable at 10x to 12.5x the bet for five of a kind, backed by J-through-Ace royals and a couple of themed low-pays — fishbones and milk bottles. Wild symbols appear on every reel and pay up to 111x the bet for five in a row; each wild also lands carrying its own multiplier between x1 and x5, and when a winning line includes more than one wild those multipliers are multiplied together rather than summed.

Three scatters landing on reels 1, 3 and 5 pay 1.5x the stake outright and open Cat-a-pult Free Spins: three spins to start, during which any wild that lands becomes sticky and resets the spin count back up. Every spin, the catapult fires at one of the sticky wilds already in place and raises its multiplier by 1, up to a ceiling of x9 per wild — so a round that keeps landing wilds can stretch on for some time while its accumulated multipliers climb.

The second bonus, Clan Battle, runs off golden paw symbols that can appear over any of the four premium cat symbols and occasionally send the round into a 5-spin battle. Each of the four cats — Mac Cattus, Mac Whiskers, Mac Feline and Mac Tabby — carries its own prize worth at least 10x the bet, and whichever cat lands most often across those five spins pays its prize to the player; a tie between symbols adds an extra spin until one pulls ahead.
