About Deadcode

Elk Studios frames Deadcode around a near-future where a handful of corporations run digital life and a hacker collective works to erase people's data trails and free them from it, a premise that plays out visually as a neon-lit city skyline in the base game and a more abstract, humanoid-batteries setting once the bonus round hits.

The grid runs 5x5 by default and pays on clusters: three or more matching symbols connected horizontally or vertically anywhere on the board form a win. Winning symbols are deleted rather than simply removed, which creates a wild in their place, and everything above tumbles down to refill the gap, a sequence that keeps repeating for as long as new clusters keep forming. Six character symbols make up the paytable, each worth 0.5x to 5x the stake for a five-symbol cluster, and any cluster of exactly three creates a wild at its centre that substitutes for every paying symbol.

A Global Multiplier tracks the whole spin: every cascade that produces a new win adds one to its value, and the current total applies to whatever wins are on the board. Running alongside it are five Collectors, one per reel, each tied to a Subroutine feature. Filling a Collector takes progressively more matching symbols, three for the first, then five, seven and ten for each one after, and once a spin runs out of new wins, any filled Collectors resolve left to right. Mystery X turns a set of symbols into a single matching type across a diagonal pattern; Terminate strips one to three symbol types from the grid while boosting the multiplier; Upgrade turns every copy of a chosen symbol into a higher-paying one; Refactor converts several empty grid positions into wild, scatter or super scatter symbols; and Refresh adds a row to the grid, clearing pay symbols in the process, or simply clears the board once the grid has already grown to its seven-row maximum.

If a round ends with no wins left and no Subroutines pending, Breach can trigger instead: every symbol that isn't part of a win gets swapped for something new, while winning and feature symbols stay locked in place, and the process repeats until nothing new lands.

Three scatters award 7 free spins, carrying the grid size, Global Multiplier and Collector progress over between spins; landing a super scatter among the triggering three upgrades this to 7 super free spins that start with one to five Collectors already loaded. Collecting a scatter during either bonus mode adds an extra spin and turns into a wild. An X-iter menu lets players buy into the action directly: boosted trigger odds for 2.5x or 5x the stake, a guaranteed set of loaded Collectors for 10x, or the bonus and super bonus rounds outright for 100x and 250x respectively.

Hit frequency is 25.1%, volatility is rated 7 out of 10, and RTP is 96% at the default setting, with 94% and 87% alternate configurations. The maximum win is 5,000x the stake, and stakes range from 0.20 to 100 per spin.
