The base game plays out in a neon-lit cityscape of tower blocks and palm trees, backed by a driving soundtrack, while triggering the bonus round drops the action into a comic-style map screen where the crew plot a route to the loot.

Wins form on a 6x6 grid whenever five or more matching symbols connect up, down, left or right. Winning symbols clear from the board and new ones fall in to fill the gaps, and the chain keeps going for as long as fresh clusters keep appearing. Three scatters send play to the bonus map, where the trio start at the bottom and work toward the vault, taking turns to advance a random number of spaces along paths that match their own colour or run white. Guards patrol fixed routes and capture a crook who strays too close, though a teammate passing the same room later can set them free. Rooms hide safes that pay out coins, keycards, zappers, dynamite or the top prize once opened; a zapper disarms a guard, a keycard lets the group into the vault, or they can try their luck hacking it without one, and the dynamite blasts open a reinforced safe once inside. The three coloured vault safes only open for a crook of the matching colour. The round ends once every crook is caught, the group has nowhere left to move, or the win cap is reached.

An X-iter menu offers several ways into the action: 3x the stake doubles the odds of triggering the bonus naturally, 10x guarantees a pair of big symbols plus a x5 super wild, and 25x upgrades all three crooks to kickers and adds a x10 super wild. The bonus round itself can be bought outright for 100x, or for 500x as a version that already has the zapper, keycard and dynamite banked.
