Elk Studios sends Ice Wolf into an arctic setting built around Norse imagery, with viking longship carvings shaped into wolf heads framing a snow-covered mountain backdrop and a watercolour-style sky behind the reels. Card values from queen through ace fill out the lower end of the pay table, while shields, hammers, axes, eagles and reindeer symbols sit above them, with the wolf itself as the top regular symbol, worth five times the bet for six matching across a full line.

The game runs across two states. Normal mode starts every spin on just the bottom section of the reels, a 6-by-3 grid worth 729 ways to win, and any winning combination there clears ice from the row above, opening a Respin mode that keeps going as long as fresh wins keep clearing more of it.
