John Hunter and the Book of Tut Respin

A respin mechanic sets John Hunter and the Book of Tut Respin apart from the earlier games in Pragmatic Play's Egyptian series, even though the desert backdrop, the temple columns and the reel symbols carry straight over. The 5-reel, 3-row grid keeps the same 10 paylines and accepts bets between 0.10 and 100, with card ranks 10 through A as the low pays and a scarab charm, a cat statue, a pharaoh figure and John Hunter making up the four premiums.

The new piece is a Mystery Symbol that can appear on any base-game spin: one regular symbol is picked at random, and once ordinary payline wins are settled, three Mystery Symbols standing on separate reels expand to fill their reel and lock in place while the rest respin. Fresh Mystery Symbols keep expanding and locking through further respins until either none land or all five reels are covered, at which point the whole board pays out — expanded symbols count from anywhere, not just on a line.

Books are wild and scatter together, substituting for other symbols and, at three, four or five in view, handing over 2x, 20x or 200x the bet alongside 10 free spins. A Mystery Symbol is set before the round starts and behaves exactly as it does in the base game, triggering the same respin chain, and three or more books appearing during the feature add another 10 spins with no ceiling on retriggers. Buying in for 100x the bet skips straight to the round and, unusually, lets the buyer choose which symbol becomes the Mystery Symbol; bought rounds run at a 96.48% RTP.

Away from the buy option, RTP defaults to 96.5% with 95.5% and 94.5% alternates, volatility carries a 4.5 out of 5 rating, hit frequency runs around 1 in 4, and the maximum win is capped at 4,000x the bet.
