Mystery of the Orient

Pragmatic Play worked with Wild Streak Gaming on Mystery of the Orient, setting a sword-wielding warrior in a red robe against a backdrop of rocky outcrops and cherry-blossom trees. The game plays out across a 5x3 grid carrying 243 ways to win, with winning combinations forming from matching symbols landing left to right starting on the first reel.

9 to A card royals fill the lower end of the paytable, returning 0.8x to 1.6x the stake for five of a kind, while an instrument, a sword, a box, a tiger and the warrior herself sit among the higher-value symbols, paying 2x to 4x for five matching. Wild coin symbols can land on reels two, three and four and substitute for every paying symbol.

A Mystery symbol can appear in any position across the grid, in both the base game and free spins, and reveals one of three outcomes when it lands: a scatter symbol, a Free Spins symbol, or a wild carrying a random multiplier drawn from nine possible steps between x2 and x25. Multipliers from wild reveals apply across every win running through them and stack together when more than one shows up in the same combination.

Three, four or five scatter symbols pay 10x, 40x or a grand prize of 8,000x the stake, while three or more Free Spins symbols trigger the bonus round directly, handing out 15, 20 or 25 free spins for three, four or five landed. During the round, Mystery symbol reveals can also produce a Reel Size Increase, adding an extra row to that reel up to a maximum of six positions, or an Additional Free Spins symbol that extends the round whether it lands naturally or through a Mystery reveal.

Where regulations allow it, a Buy Free Spins option guarantees a scatter trigger for 100 times the stake. Pragmatic Play rates Mystery of the Orient at up to 96% RTP across its 96%, 95% and 94% configurations, with high (5/5) volatility, a maximum win of 8,035 times the stake, a hit frequency of roughly 1 in 4.1, and stakes running from 0.25 to 125 per spin. The game released in February 2023.
