Pirate Golden Age

Pragmatic Play sets Pirate Golden Age around the Caribbean during the era its title references, steep mountains dropping into pale blue-green water and a skull motif worked into the background art. The game runs across a 5x3 grid with 20 fixed paylines and accepts stakes from 0.20 to 100 per spin.

Ten regular symbols fill the paytable. J through A card royals sit at the bottom, paying 1.5 to 3 times the stake for five of a kind, while the higher tiers are held by three individual pirate characters plus a trio of themed icons, a parrot, an anchor and an explosive, worth 6.25 to 75 times the bet for a full line. A skeleton wearing a pirate hat serves as the wild, substituting for every symbol except the bonus symbol and paying up to 75 times the stake if it forms a line of five by itself.

There is nothing extra running in the base game beyond regular pays, but landing three or more bonus symbols opens the free spins round; exactly three, four or five bonus symbols also pay an instant 2x, 20x or 200x the bet on top of the spins awarded. Inside free spins, a golden skull mystery symbol starts appearing, and landing one converts every mystery symbol on the reels into a single matching pay symbol or into wilds. Each mystery symbol collected is tracked on a meter, and at the end of every free spin, that collected total is redistributed back onto the grid in random positions, on top of any new mystery symbols the following spin produces. Where two or more mystery symbols end up stacked on the same position, that position gains a multiplier equal to how many are stacked there, applied to any win running through it; when a win passes through more than one multiplied position, the values add together before being used. Once the meter's tally reaches a multiple of 5 mystery symbols, an extra 1, 2 or 3 free spins are awarded at random on top of the round already in progress.

Released in October 2022, Pirate Golden Age carries a 96.49% default RTP, with 95.29% and 94.34% alternative configurations, volatility rated 5 out of 5, and a maximum win of 3,000 times the bet.
