Pragmatic Play's third outing for its recurring sea monster brings the fantastical kraken together with a Megaways engine in Release the Kraken Megaways, trading the earlier entries' cuter or scarier looks for a pirate-adventure setting under sweeping cloud formations. Six reels display between two and seven symbols each, giving up to 117,649 ways to win at full expansion.

Card royals from 10 to Ace form the low-value symbols, with five aquatic creatures making up the higher-paying set; a six-of-a-kind combination pays 0.6x to 7.5x the stake. Wilds appear on every reel except the leftmost and substitute for anything other than the scatter or the Mystery symbol, which shows up only in the base game and reveals the same random pay symbol wherever it lands.

Three or more wild symbols landing in the base game switches the reels into respin mode, where the wilds roam to new positions between paid respins. A fresh wild landing during that mode adds another respin and joins the roaming group, and the sequence continues until no respins remain.

A safety-net mechanic can also step in on a losing base-game spin, occasionally rewriting the symbols shown so the spin instead pays out at least 10x the stake.
