True Illusions surprised me because I wasn’t really sure what to expect when I first started playing it. The base game can have its quiet moments, but it gave me enough decent hits to keep my balance going while I was trying to land the bonus.
I actually really like the look and feel of this one too, it’s a bit different and doesn’t feel like another copy and paste slot. Once the reels started behaving I had a couple of really nice hits and you can definitely see there’s some decent potential hiding in it.
Worth giving it some time rather than judging it from the first few spins.
The bonus
The bonus on True Illusions was definitely a strange one because for the first few spins I genuinely thought I’d wasted my time getting there 😂 It started really slowly with a couple of tiny hits and then basically nothing, so I wasn’t expecting much from it at all.
Then out of nowhere things started connecting and the bonus finally came to life. A couple of decent wins landed fairly close together and suddenly the total was looking a lot healthier than it had at the start.
There were still a few dead spins mixed in which had me thinking it was going to die off again, but every time I was about to give up on it something else seemed to happen. That made it much more entertaining because I genuinely had no idea what the final result was going to be.
There were also a couple of painful near misses where one more symbol in the right place would have made a massive difference.
It didn’t end up being an absolutely crazy bonus for me, but considering how badly it started I was actually really happy with where it finished. You can definitely see the potential for a much bigger result if the features and wins connect at the right time.
I’d happily play it again and chase another bonus because this one felt like it was only a couple of good drops away from doing something huge. Definitely kept me watching until the very last spin.
