Pragmatic Play builds Day of Dead around Día de los Muertos, when Mexican families remember loved ones who have died, staged in a dim, low-lit graveyard with a mariachi-inflected soundtrack running under the 5x4 grid.

Twenty paylines pay across the grid for three, four or five matching symbols in a row. Playing card suits — spades, hearts, diamonds and clubs — fill the bottom of the paytable, with shakers, drums and guitars a tier above them. Four character symbols top the regular paytable, worth 6x to 15x the bet for five of a kind. Two wild symbols do the substituting: a green wild works as a standard wild, while a tombstone wild is an expanding wild, and both stand in for any paying symbol.

The tombstone wild drives the Walking Wilds feature. When one lands, it expands to fill its entire reel, pays out any resulting wins, and triggers a respin. On each respin the expanded wild steps one reel to the left, and it keeps stepping — picking up any additional tombstone wilds that land along the way and expanding those too — until it walks off the left edge of the grid. Respins continue for as long as any Walking Wild remains in view.

Landing three scatter symbols on reels one, three and five in the base game opens the Free Respin Feature, which starts with two collectable wild symbols already banked. As respins run, more tombstone-style symbols appear and get added to that collection rather than expanding immediately; those banked wilds can then be released onto the reels as fresh Expanding Wilds, either on a random respin or once no expanded wilds remain in view. The feature has no fixed spin count of its own — it simply continues, feeding walking wilds back onto the grid from the collected pool, until both the reels and the collection run empty.
