Thoro

Elk Studios carries its bull-and-matador series into Asgard with Thoro, where the hero stands to inherit the throne and his scheming brother Loki plans otherwise. The setting drifts among clouds and the Bifrost. Wins form when matching symbols land on neighbouring reels starting from the leftmost, joined horizontally or diagonally, and the game is listed with 178 paylines across a 5x3 view.

The published maths come in two versions. The standard RTP is 94%, and a reduced 87% setting also exists. Volatility is medium to high, a spin hits 23.1% of the time and the maximum win is 10,000x the stake. Stakes run from 0.20 to 100 per spin, with five X-iter betting modes on offer.

Runes carved into glowing stones fill the low end of the pay table. Above them are a helmet, a horn, a dagger-carrying pig and a cup of bubbly. Five matching runes return 0.4x to 0.8x the bet, and five of any high symbol return 0.9x to 5x. Wilds replace regular paying symbols, and a line made only of wilds is worth as much as the best symbol.

Lightning symbols are the route to the biggest prizes. They land on reels 2, 3 and 4, and a Lightning paytable beside the grid pays 2x to 1,000x for between 4 and 11 of them at its starting level. The table can be upgraded during play, and 12 Lightning symbols pay whatever is required to reach the maximum win. Scatters for the free spins count as Lightning symbols as well.

Loki symbols power the respins. Two or more give a Loki Respin in which they stay sticky, and each extra Loki that lands earns another respin. Thoro is a walking wild travelling leftward, and every step gives a respin until he leaves the leftmost reel. Only a single Thoro can stand on the grid at a time. During his walk, Lightning and scatter symbols stay in place, and Lightning payouts are held back until he has gone. When Thoro and Loki are in view together, Thoro Thunder Strike starts: he charges vertically and horizontally to knock every Loki off, leaving wilds along the trail.

Mjolnir is a blocker that remains until Thoro drags it toward him. That switches on the Mjolnir feature for the rest of the spin, grants a respin if no Thunder Strike is waiting, and lets later respins randomly upgrade the Lightning paytable or raise Thoro's multiplier.

Three scatters on reels 2, 3 and 4 start the free spins, and neither Loki nor Thoro respins use up any of them. Super free spins start with the Lightning paytable at its top level and a Thoro already carrying Mjolnir and a multiplier. The X-iter menu prices a Bonus Hunt at 3x, a guaranteed Loki Respin at 10x, a walking Thoro with Mjolnir at 25x, free spins at 100x and super free spins at 500x.
