Densho

What Densho has actually done in our bonus hunts

We have opened Densho 68 times across 68 separate bonus hunts between 24 May 2026 and 2 Oct 2026 and recorded every result. Across those 68 opens the median result was 70× the bet, against 50× for every slot in our recorded dataset. The biggest single result we have recorded on it is 845.7×. 29 of those 68 opens were 100× or better. These figures describe only the sessions we recorded — they are not this slot's RTP and they do not predict what your next bonus will do.

Densho borrows its name and theme from a Japanese idea about passing a legacy on to future generations, and Hacksaw Gaming builds the whole presentation around it - watercolour-style scenes bloom and fade behind the reels instead of staying fixed, giving the game an unusually calm, painted look for the studio. Released in September 2023, it plays out on a 5x4 grid crossed by 10 fixed paylines, paying left to right from the first reel.

Four simple ink-brush symbols cover the low end of the paytable, and five more detailed picture symbols carry the premium pays, with a wild present on every reel that substitutes for either group and pays out on its own when five appear together in a line.

The central mechanic is the Densho symbol: when one lands, it expands into a full Multiplier Reel provided the expansion completes a win, turning wild for that spin and applying its multiplier to every winning line it touches. More than one expanded reel in the same win has its values added together. Only one Densho symbol can occupy a reel at a time, and the size of its multiplier depends on rarity - a Common Densho contributes 2x to 10x, a Rare one can reach 50x, and a Legendary version multiplies a win by as much as 100x.

Three scatters trigger a 10-spin free spins round built around progression trackers positioned above each reel, which set the weakest type of Densho symbol allowed to land there. Upgrade symbols raise a reel's tracker as the round continues, landing exactly two scatters mid-round adds two more spins, and landing three adds four. Reaching the base game with four scatters instead opens Super Free Spins directly, running the same rules but with every tracker already two levels higher from the start.

A four-option bonus buy menu runs alongside ordinary play: the cheapest raises the natural odds of a bonus firing, a mid-priced option guarantees at least two Densho symbols on the next spin, and the two priciest buy straight into the regular or Super Free Spins round, each carrying its own volatility rating and a slightly different RTP.

Densho rates 4 out of 5 for volatility, its top RTP reaches 96.33% across four available settings, hit frequency runs at 24%, and the maximum win climbs to 10,000x the stake. Stakes span 0.10 to 100 per spin.
